following their stay at Powder Keg Cottage

"The cottage was excellent in every way. We have two holiday cottages that we let out, you have given me ideas on how to raise our standard! Thank you."
Martin Ritchie (Dec 2011)

"Our stay at Powder Keg cottage was amazing. We were all very impressed with the high standards set by the owners. This cottage was spotless clean and very well equipped. We cannot thank them enough for making our first trip down there such an enjoyable experience. We will certainly be booking this cottage again in the future and will be recommending it to all our friends. From a very happy Green family."
Mary Green (Dec 2011)

"We had an absolutely lovely time. The house is so lovely, waking up to the views across the harbour is just amazing."
Dr Andrea Burton (Nov 2011)

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage very much indeed, it is decorated and furnished to a very high standard and was better than any hotel that we have stayed in for many years.  We were entirely satisfied with our stay and were able to recommend the cottage to a local marine artist whose exhibition we visited."
Avril Charnock (Sep 2011)

"Dear Fiona, our feedback on our stay is very positive. The house was exactly as presented on your site. We would definitely book again with Harrington Homes!

"Thank you for the swift return of our deposit. We had a brilliant stay in Powder Keg Cottage. The situation is so lovely and peaceful with the most wonderful views, we felt immediately relaxed. We did manage a trip to the Explosion Museum and a ferry trip across to Gunwharf Quays in the sunshine. We'd love to stay again when we have more time to do it justice."
Emma Noble (July 2011)

"We absolutely loved the house and hope to come back next year. It was exceptionally clean and beautifully presented. The views are amazing and we all had a lovely time. Just wish we could have stayed longer."
Kim Ledingham (June 2011)

"My brother, his family and I had a really enjoyable time at Powder Keg Cottage, the views and the close proximity to the water was delightful and we spent each evening and morning watching the various water birds, including a little egret which neither of us has seen before outside a bird sanctuary. Thank you again for all the smooth organization."
Ann Inman, (May & June 2011)

"We had a lovely time at Powder Keg which is in such a perfect spot with amazing views."
Jo Dunn, (May 2011)

Gillian Cottle, (Easter 2011) (Gunpowder & Powder Keg Cottages)

"We had a fantastic time. Talk about wish we were still there.....! Everything was lovely. Couldn't find the washing machine instructions so had to guess. Will most definitely be using you again!"
Jennie Barton, (April 2011)

"I am pleased to say that we all enjoyed our holiday very much. A beautiful house in a wonderful location. The owner was very friendly and helpful and we had no problems whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who was looking for a place to stay in this area. I also appreciated the prompt refund of our deposit ad would definitely do business with your company in the future."
Ian Adamson from Canada (July 2010)

"Our booking was a real spur of the moment decision and how pleased our family are that we made it. The cottage is amazing both in terms of the setting right on the Solent let alone the amazing building and interior which is first class. Jane, the owner, welcomed us and made us feel at home from the word go. The nightlife on the water was better to watch than any DVD and being woken by the warmth of the sunrise on Sunday was just the best feeling and sight ever! Our stay was just not long enough and we would love to think we will return one day soon. My husband enjoyed night fishing at the end of the patio too! Thank you for all your assistance and high level of service with our booking. Very highly recommended."
Angela Smith (May Bank Holiday Weekend)

"We really had a very enjoyable stay at Powder Keg Cottage and we were so lucky with the weather, sunny every day! We found it to be a very comfortable and tastefully furnished place. The owner Jane who we met on arrival was also very friendly and kind. The views from the house were as spectacular as described. I would like to thank you for your patience with all my questions and for the many helpful information you gave us beforehand. If we ever come to this part of England again, we will surely book one of the Harrington Homes again."
U Ernst from Germany (Easter 2010)

"Powder Keg Cottage was way beyond our expectations. Jane was very welcoming and helpful, the house was lovely and clean and the welcome pack was a really nice touch. In all our time renting holiday homes around the country and abroad, we would say that Powder Keg would definitely feature in our top three. We would recommend the Jolly Roger pub to any future visitors, wonderful service and excellent food. Thank you once again for your professional support and assistance and wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year."
Neil Ross (New Year 2009/10)

"We just wanted to thank you for the swift return of our deposit after our recent stay at Powder Keg Cottage, and to let you know how very much we enjoyed it. Although we were only there for two days, we really felt as if we'd had a lovely break. The place was charming and the view was amazing. Please pass on our thanks to Jane, the owner, as it was so lovely and clean and welcoming. We really hope to be able to come back one day."
Del Bright (December 2009)

"The cottage was really good and what can you say about it's location other than fantastic. Meal in Jolly Roger bar that evening, as good as you said. Went a second time and used the restaurant, best meals we have had in ages. Walked everywhere, even down to Southsea Castle and beyond. Did all the sights and generally had a great time. Many thanks for all your help when booking and advice on eating places locally."
Paul Dever (October 2009)

“We would like to use this opportunity to express our gratitude to Jane for allowing us to stay in her lovely home for a week. It was a home away from home with a heavenly and serene view. The whole arrangement by Harrington Homes was excellent and we received very much value for money. The kids kept busy playing the games and watching the classic collection of DVDs. The music system was completely unexpected and I was delighted to have brought my IPOD along. We hope to use Harringtons again when we are next on the South Coast."

“I would like to say on behalf of my family how much we enjoyed our stay at Powder Keg. Jane made us feel very welcome. The cottage was absolutely spotless, more like a show home than a rented cottage. Everything stated for the cottage details were accurate - even down to being able to feed the swan at the bottom of the patio! We had a wonderful time and really didn't want to leave on Saturday."
Ann Sneath (June 2009)

The cottage was ideal! There was so much to see from the cottage that I didn't have to keep driving to different places.  The Jolly Roger was ideal thank you so much for recommending it. Also thank you so much for organising the private chef for Sunday lunch.  Can I just reiterate how very grateful we are to you for all the help and organising that you have done to make my Mom & Dads holiday so memorable, thank you so very much.
Ann Moore (May 2009)

"We had a lovely stay at Powder Keg Cottage, it certainly lived up to our expectations. The setting is wonderful and we were mesmerised by the various nautical comings and goings and the birdlife in front of the cottage."
Catherine Johns (April 2009)

"Powder Keg Cottage proved ideal for what we required. The welcome was warm and very helpful, ensuring that we had everything that we needed on arrival. The view over the harbour is magnificent. The house is very well decorated and furnished. The up to date TV, sound equipment, SatNav and Broadband were nice extras."
Barry Wilkinson (January 2009)

"We have just arrived back home and are already missing the views across the harbour. We never closed the curtains once during our stay for fear of missing something. Thanks for all the arrangements, it was a fantastic cottage."
Tony Weatherburn (November 2008)

"The holiday was lovely, the welcome hamper with the tea/coffee/wine & chocolates we weren't expecting and a lovely box of chocolates was very nice. Powder Keg Cottage was spotless and the views were wonderful. The Jolly Roger pub became a friend, the place was lovely and we enjoyed the food in there too. We hope to be back next year."
Gaynor Gaughan (August 2008)

"Powder Keg Cottage was great ! We wasted many an hour watching the world sail past. The cottage was extremely well equipped – and the sat nav kept the children occupied. It would have been lovely to have been able to stay longer."
